Where Drives Happen on Campus

Student Union Upper Plaza

The most frequent drive location. High foot traffic makes this a convenient spot for students between classes.

Willard Hall (ROTC Building)

Regular drives serving the engineering and ROTC community on campus.

Kappa Alpha Chapter

Greek chapter-hosted drives open to all OSU students and community members.

Delta Tau Delta & Farmhouse

Additional Greek chapter drives hosted throughout the semester at their respective chapter houses.

How to Sign Up

Signing up for an OSU blood drive takes less than 2 minutes. Use the Donable platform to choose a convenient time slot at your preferred campus location. You can also contact the OSU drive coordinator directly at brandi.atkinson@obi.org or call 580-231-3047 to inquire about upcoming drive dates.

What to Expect as a Student Donor

Most OSU campus blood drives take about 45 minutes from start to finish. Here's what the process looks like:

  1. Check-in: Present your photo ID and complete a brief health questionnaire.
  2. Mini physical: Staff will check your blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and hemoglobin level.
  3. Donation: The actual blood draw takes 8–10 minutes for whole blood.
  4. Recovery: Spend 10–15 minutes in the refreshment area with snacks and drinks provided by OBI.

Eligibility Basics

  • At least 17 years old (no parental consent needed at 17+)
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds
  • Be in generally good health on donation day
  • Bring a valid photo ID (student ID accepted)

Bring a valid photo ID (student ID accepted), eat a good meal beforehand, and drink plenty of water. Wear a shirt with sleeves that roll up easily. The entire process takes about 45 minutes.
